About Us
Birdseye Studio was founded by cellist Caleigh Drane and guitarist William Seiji Marsh in 2023 with a commitment to create community among adults who wish to grow as musicians in a safe, fun and nurturing environment. Both founders have a long history of music performance and music education across a wide range of genres, and are excited to help bring the enriching gift of music into your life.
We offer a range of group music classes for adult musicians at our spacious studio in the Falcon Art Community located at 5415 N Albina Ave, Portland, OR.

William Seiji Marsh is a guitarist, vocalist, educator, and musician mindset coach based in Portland, Oregon. As an educator, William has honed his teaching skills at prestigious institutions such as Reed College and Willamette University, where he provided individualized instruction to a diverse body of students. His approach, deeply rooted in technique, theory, and improvisation, has been fine-tuned over years of dedication to his private studio, where he nurtures the musical growth of his students. His educational philosophy emphasizes not only musical proficiency but also the development of a creative and adaptive mindset for musicians.
In the realm of performance, William’s versatility shines through a discography that includes collaborations with acclaimed Portland area artists such as Edna Vazquez, Haley Heynderickx, Lost Lander, and Cardioid, as well as international tours with Pink Martini and Cherry Poppin’ Daddies. His stylistic fluency across jazz, rock, blues, and beyond, combined with his experience in orchestral and chamber settings, makes him a sought-after musician for both live and studio sessions.
